At what sort of milage does a VTR start to die? Coz I've seen some at like 150,000 and still going strong...
Milage

#1
-
#2my mates vts is on around 165,000 and still goes very well
-
#3its more common for them to be written off before they die
-
#4is milage related to minaj?
id fuck minaj tbh -
#5Mileage is not normally the primary contributor in Saxo death's as the engines are not known for giving up if they are serviced regularly and treated ok-ish.
They either get written off or all the other parts tend to break.
For example a refurbed rear beam is £350 so on a saxo worth maybe £1000, some people don't see that as being worthit and either scrap the car or break it for parts......assuming they haven't crashed it beforehand
-
#6Ah right ok... So they are actually very strong little engines?
-
#7i personally would not buy one that has done over 150,000 but thats IMO
if the car is well looked after and seviced every year and has new parts that tend to get worn then mileage doesnt really matter -
#8They ALL stop working at 151k
-
#11You can't make a judgement on it. It all depends on how the engine itself has been maintained and how hard it has been driven.
I had a diesel engine that died at around 60,000 miles so just shows how variable it can be. -
#12Seriously high quality oil and regular changes with new filters should do you proud. Also flush the coolant too! Diesels generally run for longer as the higher compression forces the rings outwards so they seal better in the bore, but I think a well maintained TU should see 200k easily if its well maintained
-
#13Cool, cheers for that peoples
-
#14i had an old vtr that had done 172k miles and was running completetly fine,
scrapped it tho cos the chassis was rotting -
#15If you utterly annihilate a french car on a regular basis it gets better and makes the power it should have had from the factory.
You baby it and it will die.
Think of thrashing it like you going out getting fit
and driving like a granny is like it eating kfc and smoking 60 a day...
