Depends if you've got the money to buy standalone, if you do then thats the better option, if not just keep getting it mapped

A good standard ECU remap from the likes of Chipwizards will nearly cost as much as a standalone system anyway, so it's your call.

Thats what I was thinking plus if I get another ecu I can put it on any car not just my vts

Standlone might cost the same but you still need it mapping so it's like £600 pluss mapping. Remap is alot cheaper

If you are doing more work at a later date that will benefit from standalone, IE bodies, then you may aswell buy the standalone now then its out the way. If you are just going to cam it, map it then leave it, then you may aswell just get the standard ECU mapped at chipwizards. Chipwizards can map the standard ECU with bodies on aswell, but it doesnt give them the full potential.

As above, standalone is always more than a remap on a standard ECU, because either way you need it mapping, but only in 1 case do you need to purchase a new ECU

If you were lucky and got a Predator on a group buy for £550ish, they come with free mapping for the first customer which is what I was thinking of doing.

Has anybody recently had their VTS mapped at Chipwizards? I'm thinking of getting it done but want to know how much it would be. If anyone's done it you list your engine mods and power figures afterwards? Cheers.

i'm pretty interested in how much it should cost for a chipwizards map also? i'll only be getting cams so don't really want to fork out the money for a new ecu

That's why your best of getting a standalone ecu that way you can get it mapped as many times as you want and it's not a great deal to pay neither.

As I've said on a few threads mate I'm getting the predator standalone ecu plus map Wich is around the same price as getting standard ecu mapped at chipwizards.
I'm doing this end of month as my car keeps cutting out due to cams so I will put the bodies on hold and get the pred and then when I do get the bodies just have it mapped again that dosent cost much at all.
