Polished and ported throttle body

Iv been thinking of getting a polished and ported throttle body can any one tell me is it worth doing wot sort of gains I'd get

If you ever take your airbox off you'll have a nice mirror....

meant to help air flow and such like. makes it sound a lil louder too

port it to how big? maybe 1mm more if there is enough metal to allow it?

    Waste of money.

Just fit a large throttle body if you want a bigger throttle body? also whats the point of just porting it so when your airflow goes through your nice polished throttle body then hits the unmatched ports in the head and rough inlet tracts..

To see the maximum gains you should port match it from the tb thru the inlet to the head!
Thats what im doing to the v6 and it should see a few extra bhp

I got one off a member on here called spencercammedvts for about £25, was a bargain and it made it a little more responsive and a little louder, alright for the money but don't be expecting much in the way of BHP gains, you might get 0.5 - 1bhp if your existing one is dirty and clogged lol

    Couldn't have told it better.
I had one done from same guy, not too sure if he does them anymore or even if he comes on this site.
Basically the best way to describe it is the air that goes on goes through wavy as the standard throttle body Is rough but when it's been ported and polished instead of the sir going through wavy it goes straight through so in theory goes through quicker.

Don't think someone that is asking about a ported and polished throttle body and knows little about it would understand what you said above but yes you are right.

The main reason people notice the difference is because the original tb was covered in shit.

As for smoothing airflow, turbulent air can be beneficial to the fuel mix
