What do you consider to be a 'full' service on a Saxo?

    Just curious as to what you guys consider to be 'full' service carried out on your Saxo?

    My impression if I was doing one would be oil,oil filter,air filter,plugs,fuel filter,coolant level check/top up,windscreen washer top up,check wiper operation/ blades,brake fluid,steering fluid,lights,pollen filter(if fitted),engine belts and brake pads..maybe horn,seatbelts.

    Have I missed anything?

    Thats more than i do lol...

    I just do the oil+filter and coolant if needed

    Never managed to get the fuel filter off... meh

    a full service, you should check straps / hinges, brake lines and hoses, battery voltage, alternator output, tyre pressures, tread, DOT codes, ballancing of the wheels, Tracking settings, brake fluid boiling point, coolant freeze point... lots really.

    I had mine done recently, and mechanics dont seem to like writing down what they have done, but to my knowledge (I know the bloke), he does the oil + filter, ait filter, sparks, fuel filter, adjusts brakes, greases check straps and hinges on doors, coolant, brake fluid, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, reset the service light!

    you can reset the service light yourself on a saxo...and alot of other cars

    doesnt mean he serviced your car either

    Once i was so skint i put oil from my dads mr2 turbo that had big end bearing failure, it had loads of metal in it but didnt do nothing to my lil 1.1. Edit : was not servicing it, had a oil leak.

    You were skint so risked a £500 bill for a new engine rather than waiting a bit longer to have money lol

    Well yer i needed to get work was sieze it from no oil or take the risk but taking the risk paid off it was fine, and £500 lol u can prob get a 1.1 lump for £50.

    And most importenly check the suspension and brakes for wear...! Remember that coolant should be changed at least every fourth year, and brakefluid should be changed every second year....

    5l of the cheapest 10w40 is about a tenner...or you could have sieved the oil first to remove the metal jeez

    Thats pathetic. Be embarassed to admit that!

    A full service for me would be the main serviceable parts - oil and filter first and foremost, followed by air filter (or clean out aftermarket airfilter and replace), spark plugs and pollen filter if necessary.

    As said, if its not had coolant or brake fluid for a couple of years either I'd do them too.

    I change my oil and filter every 5k miles!

    HT leads... If your rocking an OLD small engined saxo, do them ever 50k or so. New a garage that offered to change all the engine sensors at 10k ish, said it would help fuel economy and people went for it.... few quid spent in his till!

    On a full service I would be doing the gearbox oil as well.
