which would people go for ?
Yoko S-Drives Vs Toyo Proxis T1r's

#2Both shit tyres.
SDrives are really shit though. Like driving on wood in the rain.
Toyos are better, theyre average in dry and wet condition, neither last long. Theres alot better for the same money available. -
#3what others would you recommend as a decent all rounder ?
-
#4on a budget - khumo ku31's or whatever they are now
high rollin' - michelin pilot exalto 2.
those two from my experience. a mate had t1r's on his swift, the shoulders wear out silly quick and he doesn't even drive that hard. -
#5Uniroyal Rainsport 2's are in similar price range
Michelin Pilots
Continental Sport contacts 2's & 3's
Goodyear eagle F1 GSD3s are a very good tyre too in all conditions but they dont last long either.
Personaly choice is rainsport 2's and alot of people share the same view.
Feredal 595s is it? cant remember which model now. -
#6me personally pirelli p zero's, they were much better on my car than the current t1r's that i have
-
#7I had T1r's earlier this year, currently have Rainsport 2's, with the weather turning now..
They're far nicer all round, and alot better than T1r's when its not completely dry.
Cheaper too. -
#8i have s drives on the front and tr1's on the rear
i would highly reccomened both tbh... can pick them up on ebay cheap -
#9Avoid s drives and t1r's.
Both serve no unique function as a tyre. They wear quickly, have soft side walls, and offer poor wet whether performance. -
#10what tyre size you after 195/45/15?? tr1's are better than s drives, saying that i did have a blowout on a tr1 which was fairly new with alot of tread etc and no signs of damage. Best i've had in that size are eagle f1's for grip, personally think they edge it for optimum (sp) grip over Michelin Pilots but dont last anywhere near as long. Also think eagle f1's got discontinoued (sp) awhile back as well.

#11iv had T1rs in the past and found they werent too good in the wet! and yeah im after 195/45/15s or 50/15s anyone used yoko pradas ?

#12Same views as this.Quote:what tyre size you after 195/45/15?? tr1's are better than s drives, saying that i did have a blowout on a tr1 which was fairly new with alot of tread etc and no signs of damage. Avoid Parada Spec 2's they have a split trad pattern which wears unevenly, also have VERY soft sidewalls so the shoulders wear out stupidly quick. They overheat too quick aswell. -

This sites good for tyres that have alot of reviews with plenty of milage. Not everyone knows what theyre talking about though. Good for a rough guide. -

#15I've had these Kuhmo's in the past, and they stuck like shi*. For £50 / £60 a tyre, you can't go wrong. They were amazing and would have them again.Quote:on a budget - khumo ku31's or whatever they are now

Although, my shitty budget tires and pissing me off and i don't want to fork out on 4 new corners of Michelin Pilot Exalto costing like £500. -
#16got s drives at th moment and theyre not too bad but pretty shit in the wet. also used have t1rs and i thought they were quite good all rounders for daily.
-
#17Anyone could have a blowout if a screw managed to pierce the wall then got fired back out..Quote:what tyre size you after 195/45/15?? tr1's are better than s drives, saying that i did have a blowout on a tr1 which was fairly new with alot of tread etc and no signs of damage. #18must be wrong pressures or wheel alignment problems, the side walls on the spec 2's are mentally hard.
-
#20Rainsport 2s are great tyres IMO, easily on par with T1Rs in the dry, and better in the wet.
Wear quickly though, courtesy of them being soft. (Wet weather tyres are generally softer than dry weather tyres). -

Exalto's are like £80 per corner, and will last much longer than the khumos, you can get over 100k out of the rear michelins lol. - kinda pay for themselves
ContiSport 3's for me are about £105 per front, and £145ish per rear tyre. - moan about prices when you own something bigger than a 15
-
#23Ive used spec 2's, also sold and fitted many, the tyre walls are silly soft, I felt like I could put a pen through them!
-
#24I have s-drives. They wear super quick. Kumho ectsa sport are a personal choice. Cheap, last long and grip well.
