manifold ebay special

Looking for a manifold to fit mk2 but don't want to spend stupid amount. PUG1OFF had a raceland one in for mk2 at £171 but missed out on that. Here's one on ebay :

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-SA...item5d3056ee89

Is it any good any one had one? I am heat wrapping it so does not really matter too much on the looks. Would it do the job?

Getting a branded one will ensure the bore/welds are smoother so has better flowing gases. Also the ebay specials will probably have a dodgy fit somewhere.

I personally wouldn't get an exhaust system from ebay.

Second hand raceland mani's etc come up often for the vtr.

what at £220? Pug1off was selling exactly same thing at 171. Going to ring monday see if there getting anymore in.

When times were good everyone discounted them massively. I know Pug1off dont have any - they ring me for them. You can try elsewhere but as Raceland are not manufacturing them for the rest of the year at least you may find it difficult to buy new.
£220 is not a lot of money for a manifold. Considering the difference in quality of the 4-1 they are worth that price. I'm just not going to sell at £4-5 profit margin anymore.
The problem is discounting 30-40% devalues the brand until people expect the price to be dirt cheap as you have shown. You'd laugh in shock if we sold them at full retail.

I am not moaning about your prices mate, but if someone is doing something £50 cheaper obviously its worth getting from them. But for you to sell at £220 when someone is knocking them out much cheaper your making a good tank on them. No one sells for cost price so you must buy them in cheaper than £171 what pug1off was selling them at.

ah you have edited your post while i was typing a reply.

you would be surprised at how low some companies will push the prices down. Certain lines we price match and make £4 on a £120 item. Raceland is similar. I could not run a business selling Raceland manifolds thats for sure. Realistically a good retail margin is 14% after wages, building costs etc are taken into account. If you can get one new cheap then good for you, but I need to make money to survive.

    Have you rang pug1off?

I bought this exact manifold on ebay but it was a bidding auction from the same company and i won it for £90.
They boast a power increase of up to 15bhp, but i had mine tested on a rolling road before and after the install and bhp increased by 8 with a standard air box fitted.

    (I provided my own de-cat)

Definatly worth a crack as a quick and easy mod.

Have a look at how much longer the down pipes for each cylinder are on proper manifolds compared to the one you posted mate.

Each of the four pipes on my piper 4-1 come all the way down to the exhaust centre pipe, much better flow.
