Injectortune (injector cleaning) - my thoughts

Just as a follow up to adsayer's thread, here's my thoughts on the service Injectortune offers.

I've always been a little dubious of whether injector cleaning provides any benefits for a fairly low mileage car. I had a few odds and sods to do on the car anyway, so while it was in the garage, I removed the injectors from my 52k mile VTS and sent them off to James at Injectortune.

I should have taken a picture of the injector outlets, but this gives you a rough idea of how manky they looked.

A few days later, I got the injectors back with a printout showing I'd reclaimed 62cc/min through cleaning.

Got the car back together and started it last night, but didn't have a chance to give it a good drive until today. First thing I noticed this morning was how quickly the engine starts - from cold, it sounds like the starter does a couple of rotations before the car fires up, before it was more like 5 or 6. Ticking over, the engine sounds a lot quieter too. On the road, the throttle response definitely seems to have been improved - it seems to pull much cleaner from lower down the rev range.

Whether you're fitting cams, ITBs, or just want to know your engine is running as close to factory spec as possible, I would definitely give injector cleaning a go. Injectortune are still offering Sax-P club discount, so cleaning for 4x injectors works out at £46 inc. return postage. Money well spent.

How long does it take? As I use my car daily!

I sent them first class on Monday and had them back first thing on Friday.

Although if you speak to James at Injectortune, he may be able to arrange a faster turnaround?

Want to send mine off to these just never got round to it!
If you noticed that much of a difference from just 52k would be interesting to see what I would gain back from mine which have covered nearly 85k

Good advertising. Always fancied it after seeing Emerald doing it, some injectors being terrible prior to cleaning.

I am genuine surprised how much of a difference it has made. Given the mileage on my injectors, I didn't think having them cleaned would be noticeable when driving.

This sounds good, my car has done 124K so I think I'd definitely notice the difference!

They cleaned my injectors, whilst I was collecting all the bits for my engine conversion

    Excellent service, turn around

As I never used the injectors before they were cleaned, I don't know what improvement they made.
All I know is they are cleaner than they would have been
