I'm looking at caming my vtr, it's fairly moddified already, ( 4-2-1 decat, straight through and cherry bomb, piper cross induction kit, all sorts of suspension mods) but what I want is more speed. My thoughts are a cam, new belt, and a remap. What I want to know is what cam, and where can I get it remmaped with a rolling road, ++ rough prices. Any clues people!?!?
Remapping places with dyno?

#2catcam/kent cam/piper from kamracing
preditor ecu from here and then fitting -
#3Once I've got the cam what else do I need for fitting? And do you need to do anything with the timing? Is there anywhere that re program's a standard ecu?
-
#4Can't get a pred for a vtr mate. You can have the std ecu mapped at jamsport and chipwizards, not cheap though by any means. I had a jamsport mapped ecu on my vts, chipwizards is regarded to be the best place

#5yea you could goto chipwizards in rochdale to map the ecu when its all fitted, hell also tune it correctly aswell, but thatll be close to £500 to have it done
-
#6Yee that's pretty far from me too, and I don't wanna spend 500 on a map, is a cam and remap worth the money?
-
#7on a vtr, imo NO...
you could buy a vts engine and have it fitted for around or less than £600 and itll be alot quicker with the S gearbox -
#9but I think there is a 3plug version now as well alex? last few months...

#12Fair enough I jumped the gun there. I forgot a few people are now running them on 8v.Quote:please explain to me how blackie is running one on his turbod vtr......
They are the same plug its the 3 plug ecu cars youll struggle to get a pred for 8v/16v isnt an issue if your single plug iirc
When i got mine there was a lot of people moaning about the lack of a 8v system, i confess i dont read many progress threads or spend much time in andys section of the forum so it appears im a bit behind the times.
Apologies for my foolishness
