Rev limit raising

    What options are available to me here as
    I have an engine that'll take 7200 as standard so wouldnt mind using the extra rpm range.I'm assuming its an expensive remap job or standalone/omex, or is there anything available for the PSA range to do this?
    Failing that would a Rallye Single plug ECU fit a mk2 single plug VTR engine loom, or will I need a full rallye engine loom, ecu and then loom splicing to fit the VTR body loom?

    I think you'll need a remap.

    Tbh though, raising the rev limit on its own won't really achieve anything. It's not like there's more power, or torque available after the redline. In fact you should probably be changing up before then anyway.

    From what i've seen there are cammed VTSs that have been mapped, and kept the standard redline.

    Mind you, it'd probably be worth getting it mapped anyway. You said you've got a rallye/xsi cam didn't you?

    pm Ryanmt, he can remove the rev limiter afaik.

    Only thing is, as you say, a remaps going to cost you no matter what route you go down. A rallye ecu might be a good bet,finding the loom might be the hard part though as Ive seldom seen them come up.

    I have an unlocked Rallye ECU for sale if you decide to go down that route.

    Noob question.

    What benefit does a rallye ecu offer in comparison to the standard vts one?

    Seem like an interesting mod that could be fairly cheap?

    EDIT: Its VTR i fail lol

    It wouldn't run

    Rallye ecu is for a 1.6 8v.. or a 1.3 8v engine.

    Almost certainly just won't work on a vts

    To be honest mate a remap is going to get you extra power if you have breathing mods, so maybe you should finish the performance mods of before you get a remap, then do it last so its all done.

    Yeah and the rallye's rev to 7200 so just thought I could perhaps take advantage of the harder green valve springs and so on

    I can source a loom I think but its the grey area of is it going to work with the saxo body loom?
    I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled on ebay

    The mods are pretty much complete on the engine now, perhaps a rallye inlet in the future if I can find one that isn't mega bucks.

    get a map done, after all the messing around with looms and buying the ecu etc.. you can just get it mapped properlly to the mods and make more power

    Yeah thats what I would do but a remap is going to be the best part of £500 whereas a I can get a loom and ecu for not a lot, plus maybe a spare engine to rebuild

    Ryanmt also does loom conversions. Its quite easy to change, you just cut off the multiplugs, get a pin out or buzz out the wires,and connect them up to suit. Worth dropping him a pm.
