    complete newbie here.

anyone done any work on a xsara vts engine?

how are they to turbo compared to the saxo engines? i assume its a similar story (decomp hg, piggyback ecu, custom flange etc) but with greater potential gains

yeah i know they are the same as the 306gti, that wasnt the question lol. from what i gather the 306 boys tend to go down the supercharger route rather than turbo... just wondered if anyone had any experience of this?

rather go turbo tbh, 'chargers confuse me lol

I beleive there's 'single digit' numbers of turbo'd xu10 engines, most people go down the supercharger route as it's much easier and can come as a bolt on kit.

supercharger can be done considerably cheaper, iirc circa £3.5k for a reliable and proven 250-260bhp (less if you pick up second hand kits, recently saw one for sale at £1800 including 1 year old charger)
Its all bolt on parts running at low boost so no need to take your engine apart, then if you do decide on a forged bottom end you can up the boost and run 400bhp
