short jorneys

    hii just wondering if you do a short journey in your car say it takes 3 miniutes to get to the place is this bad for the engine as it doesnt get hot enough? im not lazy my grandma just often needs a lift to the shops as she not great at walking so i give her a lift is short journeys like this goin to be bad for my engine? cheers

    I used to deliver pizzas for a year in my 1.4 corsa b with 126k on the clock. Never skipped a beat.

    Its not going to be brilliant for engine wear as the oil hasnt warmed up, but if you drive it sensibly and dont belt it/rev limiter it from cold dont worry about it.

    definitely terrible for the exhaust. Doesn't have tmie ti heat up properly so any standing water stays there.Go for a full stainless steel system expect to have to change the whole stuff every 2 years or less.

    But if that's just your weekly granma drive and you do some longer trips the rest of the time then you'll be fine. Never rag the engine from cold and that's pretty much it, they're very strong engines anyway.

    I do loads of short journeys from cold every week for about a year so far and no problems

    should be fine. may not be good in the long run but who cares about that.

    well its done 121k miless so not doing bad but want it to last longer obviously but i do drive big long runs most days a small day for me is about 50 miles :s

    Should be fine, just don't drive it like your usual saxo driver

    This... And even if it does it wont be nothing major and will be cheap to fix.
