Supersprint Exhaust with silencer

    Hey guys,

    My standard exhaust is fooked on my GTi. I'm thinking of keeping my cat, running a supersprint catback pipe with centre silencer and supersprint backbox.

    I'm concerned about the noise but am hoping that keeping both the cat and having the centre silencer will hopefully not make it too loud.

    How loud do you think this setup will be compared to the standard system?

    It will have a nice tone in higher revs, Lower revs you'll barely notice

    Ahh cool, that's what I was hoping for!! I love the sound of the supersprint exhaust systems but want to keep it as quiet as possible for daily driving

    I have this set up, have been running it about 2 years, it is nice and quiet till about 2500 / 3000 rpm then it has a bit of throat but that's it not to loud but still enjoyable

    Reason I got the silencer was due to doing lots of motorway miles as it keeps the noise down, but then you can still have fun on the back roads

    I have no cat or silencer and mine is crazy loud.

    Guy who lives down from my mum knocked on my door stressing about waking his daughter up every night.
    I laughed because theres fuck all he can do but yeh i think this is what i should have done tbh.....

    i have 4-2-1 and a supersprint straight through with backbox unsilenced, everyone complains to me it's too loud, but to be honest, inside the car it's not that bad until you hit 3-4k 5-6k is fucking unreal though

    The Supersprint mid silencer knocks off about 12decibels

    I <3 my Supersprint. I use it with a Piper mani and sounds so nice. Not too loud when crusing below 3k but when you pin the throttle it has a really nice tone to it and is pretty loud.

    Probably be the same with a silencer and cat just not as raspy and quite a bit quieter. I would go for it m8.

    hi, ive got the supersprint racing backbox, everything else to do with the exhaust system is standard.

    if i switched my standard centre section for the supersprint one (no silencer) would that make the car a lot louder?

    and would it change the sound of the exhaust at all?

    It will certainly be louder. You will be removing a silencer for starters as well as removing a silencer which has baffles. Noise will increase by a large amount I would say.

    righty then, thanks for that. i think i'll leave it then...

    ive heard a few saxo's that sound like rally cars, but im guessing they've completely upgraded the entire exhaust system...new manifold, de-cat...the whole lot?
