sorry to all if there is a thread already but i cant seem to find anything

so thinking bout doing a vtr engine change on ma flatarch and was wondering is it a straight swap or is there differet things i need for example if i was to get and engine, loom and ecu would it all go straight in or would it need to be as people say spliced ????

all help would be awsome as would like to get on it straight away
ps anyone got a vtr engine for sale

if you get an engine of the same year theres no need for any splicing, also need to make sure the ecu is unlocked

There is some one on here who unlOcks ecu , alternatively have a look on eBay and there's services on their who can unlock , why not go for a vts engine over the vtr ?

    I've done this swap before
Didn't have to swap ecu or engine mount

    I put a 3plug vtr in a 3 plug 1.1
No splicing, just as easy as unplugging the engine in there now then plugging it back in again!

I ran the 1.1 ecu for about a month then got a vtr ecu

If you need help pm me mate

I didnt even changed the rad at first on my vts and it was fine, have changed it since though as i got it real cheap.

    If your putting a 3 plug gti into a 3 plug 1.1
