OK so I went the cheap route and bought a manifold from a company called Toyosport.

Thought I'd show you what its like. Just before you slate me I've heard from many people that these are well decent for the money and fit a mark two VTR bang on with no oil filter relocation.... But heres the pics.

Also got some black heat wrap with metal ties.

ah shit cal that one is ok but there are 2 types of 4 branch for the mk2 on the cheap there is another one with a better design which is a better 4-1 design

in theory the 4 2 1 is better for the vtr. Cause it spreads power gain over low to mid range where the vtr is lacking, rather than pushing it all up to the top. The only reason they say the 4-1 is better is cause it Doesnt require the oil filter relocation as do some 4 2 1's like the raceland. The only reason the raceland needs this is because its designed for use with a Mark one not a two... This particular manifold I've bought is designed for the vtr Mark two so it wont need the filter relocation. this is how i understand it any way anyone who knows better feel free to correct me.

sure its not this one lol. ? Ah Well either way this is What i wanted so it Will do the trick! 4 2 1 straight fit suits me. The supersprint fits too but is like 300 odd quid.

i'll sort link out when I can find it dude, what you got now is basically a stainless version of the sportex one but better made by the looks of it just make sure you dry fit the top bit first as i remember with the sportex ones the studs where pretty close on some of the pipes shouldn't take you long to fit

I was looking at these , is it the one for 160 ish quid ? Pretty good price for what your getting, as about 2 hours labour will be going into it , ( materials about 60)
  15. #15
Yeah it does hold a close resemblance to the sportex. But as you say stainless. I've spoke to a few guys who have them and said they fit sweet. Me and gazer Will do it over the next week or so. Ill update with pics too. Or i might make a very late progress thread. Show Off the saxo. I got this for 140 with 15 metre heat wrap for a Tenner. Not bad.

About ten mins labour and 20 worth of parts if your lucky, as said looks like the sportex sports cat one.... Minus the sports cat

i used to be a cnc machine setter/operator. Pretty articulate stuff all this metal bending specially with car parts which is What i did. Admittedly these parts are cheaper for a reason but it certainly feels a decent part and everyone on the comments seems pleased with it. Including a few guys off here.

so is the general consensus that sportex are no good or what ?
  19. #19
I'm not slating anything btw... Just pointing out its similar to sportex and that it's mass produced, will take minutes, flanges ordered in ready, pipes bent and cut ready
  20. #20
I think more than ten mIns labour , I presume it will be made in a jig , and to tig weld that your looking at a good 20 mins for a proper job , then you've got your bends to put on the pipes , tweaking to get right , then you've got the time of taking it for delivery or organising currier .
