Lowering Springs

Does anyone on here recommend the Cituning Lowering springs for £55, or am i better off getting the Spax SSX Springs from Demontweeks for the same price???

    Both lower 60mm apparently?

Are you going to be using them with standard or uprated dampers?

Probably just standard, all depending on what the MoT says on Wednesday, if they're fucked, gonna push the boat out in January

Well I haven't had any experience with those cituning springs, but what I will say is for the sake of how cheap some decent aftermarket dampers are these days, it's worth getting the whole package, will make a world of difference to just getting springs.

When you say Uprated, do you mean the likes of the Spax ones that say Adjustable, like £88 each???

i have some coilovers for sale looking for 120, adjustable 35-80mm if ur interested
  7. #7
well the spax will only lower your car by 50mm so it might be worth trying out the cituning ones?

ive got spax on mine, they are ok but higly reccomend getting some stiffer dampners too

There are plenty of others, I got apex dampers for £55 each off kam racing

And updated just means made for lowering sprimgs the majority of the time, they are shorter and stiffer, standard dampers are too long which means they are always under more commpression than they were designed for

from personal experience i would push the boat out mate and buy a fuel lowering kit. apex do one for £211.99 posted if i remember rightly. also best to not go any lower than 35mm or you start having problems with tracking etc.

forgot to say also any lower than 25 mm and its recommended that you uprate your shock as standard ones shit themselves after 25mm of lowering.

also lowering more than 25mm - 30mm and most garages wont be able to do your tracking as the car will be too low as i found in the past and only place i could get to do it was ATS.

i agree it would be a wise move to just push the boat out and just buy the kit. However im not sure where you made up problems with tracking? The ride height has no effect on tracking.

Also the standard shocks wont shit themselves past 25mm. Generally people say the max you should go on standards is 40mm before you get wearing out problems, spring seating problems and a general shit handling/ride comfort.
Many people have gone for 60mm lowering springs on standard shocks with no problems though. Sometimes the shocks last longer than you'd think

Saying 'most' garages is a bit extreme. you do get the odd garage who wouldnt do it but it all depends on what alignment system they are using. 25-30mm isnt low at all, it barely looks any different to the standard height
