I have a 2002 vtr and I bought it without a cat, the rest of the car is fine though. The engine management light is on permanently and I've heard that you can drive without one but I'd like some feedback on here. Where I live (isle of man) doesnt have a MOT law so it is 100% legal to not have one but will that damage my car?
Is it ok to drive without a catalytic converter?

#2It won't damage it, they're purely for emissions
-
#3No it's fine it only puts the light on cause your emmisions are normally set to protect the enviroment, put a sleeve over the lambda sensor that was in the cat and the light will go off, iirc gmc sell them.
-
#4It'll be fine, people drive withotu cats on all the time.
PS- Isle of Man doesn't have MOT laws? -

#12You just said a double negative so you even said it yourself, the IoM does have laws and speed limits.Quote:Isle of man don't have no laws.lol. I done 140mph through a village on a zx9r :-)
The IoM does have speed limits, in every village has restriction zones down to 30-50mph.
So you saying that you did 140mph through a village is a bit... umm.. yeah..
So, cool story bro. . . -

#14you heartless fiend, you driving without a cat will result in the death of approx 2000 Bolivian bog Otters due to all your pollutants, i hope you get strung up by your scrotum and flogged with wet kippers, all the best, Greenpeace2 users thanked this post: ,
