Might of been scammed?

Hey guys, not sure on how to go about getting my money back from a seller? I will not name and shame yet but what would I do? I paid on the 6th of december for an item on next day delivery

Another member sent me a message saying he had been scammed by said member back in july

    any help would be handy.
  2. #2
    Messaged the seller?

    How did you pay?
Just start a Paypal dispute if you paid for a product.

I have messaged him several times but it can take upto 2-3 days for a simple text back! I paid via paypal as goods iirc... paid the fee's anyway

It has resulted in my car being off the road and paying the best part of 400 quid in taxi's to work even tho I bought the item on the condition it was sent next day delivery
  4. #4
When i had a dispute with someone and couldnt get my money back I printed off a list of messages id sent and emails plus information on the item i had bought and took it the the police got a phone call the same day offering my money back. But I handt had any contact back from the seller for about a month. If you have their phone number just phone them if not look around on here they usuallly leave a number on a forsale thread
  5. #5
i know who the person is as he still owes me a refund. the lad is full of crap excuses
i was also messaged by another person who spent 80 on something from this same guy and is still awaiting the item to arrive after 3 weeks.
  6. #6
Which member are we talking about?
  7. #7
No idea but cant understand how people can do that
  8. #8
Just put a claim in on PayPal and post him some dog shit in a box
  9. #9
It might be too late for him to claim isn't it something like within 30 days

He still owes me £25 I know it's not alot of money but it's still my hard earned money
The lads username is Bedford8256 he either doesn't reply to pms or comes out with excuses like " I'll refund you once I've sold some stuff on eBay" erm f*** off its my money and you have spent it!
  10. #10
I would open a dispute on paypal, & if this same guy has done this to a few people which by the looks of it he has, i would name & shame.. to warn other members!!
  11. #11
If I was you id buy the part you need and get your car back on the road so you dont need taxi's and will save abit of money and open a case in the resoloution centre, soon as paypal ask for his proof of postage and he cant provide it they will refund you. IIRC you have about 40 days to open it though so I'd do it asap.

i think 5mm spacers would sort it, but as im going on the track when i get my new car i dont wanna do that, so just guna grind the face of the calipers down till the wheels go on, lol.

wont notice once there painted black again anyway.

hubs must be different? or the caliper brackets? fuck knows but when the bolts are tight the front wheels dont spin aha.

Shit dude, very sorry about that could the hubs be machined down a bit?
  28. #28
    its no bother mate.

nah i cba with that. grinding down the calipers should sort it.

guna get the rest of the tyres fitted and see what they are like on the rear wether they scrape the arches or not, if they do then i will need spacers all round so will probably just sell them. lol.

getting a bit bored of saxos now tbh :/

cool man, they sat out just about on the arch's on my car as if they where spaced. They would of scrubbed on the outside of mine
  30. #30
yeh i think spacing them would spit them out abit too far.

in a couple of weeks it should be sorted and i will whack some pics up for you to see
  31. #31
Bit of an update, Finaly got a reply from the 'seller'. It turns out I do not get a refund if I dont receive the head as it cost him 50 quid to send it.. even tho it has cost me roughly 540ish in taxi's to get too and from work when it should have only cost me around 100 at the most.

Thats the mapping on the turbo out the fucking window.
  32. #32
Thats bullshit. Is that what he's told you?

Just open a dispute if you can. Its been ages, if you havent recieved it then he's either not sent it or its got lost in transit..Which if he'd sorted the courier correctly, he would have insurance to claim costs back.

    He's chatting balls.
  33. #33
Seller's responsibility to ensure the item is received by the Buyer - in the eyes of the law.

    Keep on at it.

yep but yet to see prove postage ect, well I did say I am passing through blackpool next week and that he still owes money to other people and I never got a reply.. by the sounds of it, it's my fault he split an engine and I never received the parcel. Not only that he claims he used Paisley freight which is the same company I used to split my itb'd vtr and I am sure there was 15+ parcels sent without a problem

Maybe a mod could PM him and try sort something?

  36. #36
copied and pasted from my phone.. reply from bedford

Look mate I'm not refunding anybody until I at least get the head back, iv paid for 3 lots of courier now I split a complete working engine to sell the head for £50 iv nearly spent £50 in courier charges so until I get the head or it turns up at ur house and u send it me back I won't be refunding you
  37. #37
Ask for a proof of postage again.. If he has indeed sent it, there'll be some form of confirmation/tracking number for it. Untill he gives you a legit one, keep pushing on him.

I have asked him several times, fair enough if the head ever turns up or proof of postage I will take back my words ect.
  39. #39
I have posted this head 3 times it's cost me £48 in courier costs each time it's been returned it after 3 failed delivery attempts iv even offered to meet him half way'ish when I went to Newcastle. He told me he would contact the courier service I txt him to ask how he got on and his reply was I havnt got time to phone them...
Iv sold tons of stuff on here without any problems I sent an ecu and a head and iv had problems with both of them, the ecu issue hasn't been mentioned on here so iv brought it up myself.
The lad who bought the head has asked for a refund iv told him I am
Not refunding any money until the head is located or returned to me. I sold the head for £50 posted iv spent £48 on courier services, I split a perfectly running engine do this head as the seller was desperate for it. As for the airbox I'm 99% sure I sent a refund I havnt had chance to look through my PayPal payments as yet because I'm
On my phone things arnt as easy as having a pc in front of you.
As mentioned iv sold loads on here and many of other forums with no problems I'm
Also a paid member. In the time of me selling the head and now I changed my Phone number I was scamming any1 I wouldnt of txt the lad with the head with my new number

    Your Itrader feedback says different.

its the sellers responsibility that the goods arrive. If it hasnt been delivered, thats your responsibility. Do you have a tracking code for it? You should do if its been couriered.
Normally if a courier cant deliver an item if the buyer isnt in, they'll leave a card so you can arrange for it to be redelivered. Has the buyer had one? If not, then it hasnt been sent at all.
    1 user thanked this post:
  41. #41
If you've couriered it properly, Ie; given the correct value of it.. You'll have insurance cover for it if it gets lost or damaged. So if it hasnt been delivered ring up and sort it out.. You'll get insurance pay from it and can refund the buyer.

edit: your latest Itrader feedback is going against you also, the same way this has..

So your head in courier services are you I did send a tracking number to him but he hasn't mentioned this
  43. #43
My dad owns a Logistics company..So yes.
Do you have proof of the tracking/postage for everyone to see? Its easy to claim to have done something.
  44. #44
I don't understand why things like this have to be so difficult.

You send a parcel using a courier and get a tracking number which you forward onto the buyer as well.
Delivery can't be made for whatever reason so they leave a card saying they will attempt redelivery x amount of times (or that you can collect from the depot).

I wasn't in for my last delivery but the card said they will attempt delivery the next day and the one more and then return to the sender. I called and picked it up from the depot but the card clearly stated what was going on if I hadn't of done this.

Why doesn't the seller call the courier company with the tracking number and ask where the parcel is??
  45. #45
Ermm how can it be buyers responsibility to ensure goods arrive?

    YOU arrange the courier
    YOU pay the charges
    YOU get the tracking number

but yet it's the other guys problem?

    you truly are a moron

That's a lie, everytime I have asked for proof or postage I got the usual excused like 'it's at work' I have never received any tracking number either.

I could understand if the courier has been at my house but 7 people including myself stay at the delivery address and there has been somebody in everyday without fail.

Post up the tracking number just now?
  48. #48

It seem's that proof of postage is a myth with this guy... o wait there was no postage involved. 540ish quid for taxi's to work but if he kept to the agreement it would of been 100ish

Well the tracking number I was given on this thread never had an adress,it had the wrong date, no details about the parcel or anything.

All I am asking is for you to make a bit of an effort in asking the courier where the heads went? I only seem to get you saying you are at work ect It has got to the stage were I have bought another head from a member on here on wednesday night and it arrived friday morning.....

give you tip on paypal purchases.......You will always win a claim if A) They cannot prove sending the item with tracking. B) IF they cannot prove it was delivered. If 1 of the above...you will get your money back + they will have to recoup loss from whoever they "posted" with.
