Why does my saxo feel like a tank to drive?!

Hey dudes, just wanted to run something past you all before I put my saxo to a garage...

Visited a friend last night and the car was running perfectly...went to drive home and the steering wheel was really stiff to turn...I couldnt get it to turn at all! Restarted the car as I thought it might've been something to with the steering lock but nopes! Also realised that the heating wouldnt go on either. Got a couple friends out who managed to drive the car home for me since being a wee lassie myself it was like driving a tank and I just couldnt manage it haha! Phoned dad who said a fuse mightve blown or could be something to do with hydraulics Any ideas though??

Try this 1st http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27609 (I know some of the pics aren`t working)but it`ll become apparent when you take things off.

    Good luck.

There is a fuse that controls the PAS and the heater in the glovebox, check that first before you check the alternator belt

Just a blown / loose fuse.

Cheers guys Our local garage wont be able to see the car until next week (needs other things worked on aswell) but I'll mention the belt/fuse stuff to dad and see what he can do!

    Alternators on its way out
Happened to me last year, went out to the car after work and had no heaters, power steering or rear demisters.

Checked it with a multimeter and was giving out barely anything lol
Got a new one and everything was back to normal

Used the guide from the link that Stevo67 posted, so far it seems to be running fine and nothing has cut out as of yet!
