Piper mani Saxsport cat system

  1. #1
Hi all, complete noob to this forum just posted in there.. Read a bit of this forum very helpful and found Jason White who sorted my suspension and induction perfectly!

car failed MOT didn't realise it had been de-catted and want to replace the system anyway as it fits rubbish (i didn't put it on)

Want to get piper manifold with saxsport system and motorsport cat. I have searched can't see anything about the system w/cat. I haven't got any friendly MOT people near me and am pretty useless changing the cat every year etc.

I have a 2003 VTS btw. If anyone could shed any light on the situation would be great and got a load of other things planned as posted in the noob section. Hoping to have this thing on TB's by the end of the year!

Sports cats are fucking expensive for the small amount of time it takes to change the CAT once a year. It's like 4 bolts to swap it out, just my 2p.

Thanks all. Yeah seen them on that site. I think what I'm actually going to do is to get a Kam racing system at it seems everyone is saying they're excellent and they're the lightest on the market. I'll swap it out for standard system for the MOT and just man up and do it myself lol.

Now I just need to buy it, and find myself a standard system with a cat for MOT!

I reckon an hours labour for a garage to swap the cat in and out so thats 2x £40 per year I reckon.

£80 per year would mean you would need to have the car 5 years to justify spending £400 on a sports cat

thats if your stupid enough to spend £80 a year on fitting a cat which consits of 4 nuts and bolts lol

i can see the appeal of motorsport cats i would just never buy one unless it was stupidly cheap

Yeah I was going with worse case scenario, sports cats are a waste of money.

I reckon I could swap a decat with a cat with my eyes closed!

Well if I can't do this I'm an idiot. I'll let you know how I get on. Also just picked up a set of peugeot 206 gti 180 brakes so by the end of the month car should be great.
