Head Work?

When people on here say that they have had head work done does this meen Port and Polish and the head skimmed?

What sort of gains have people had from this and where is the best place to get this work done as the head is coming off my vts soon?

    Cheers.

port and polish is an expensive job but if you have other mods such as cams, intake etc it would make a good increase as it increases intake efficiency. also if a port and polish is on the cards the valves will all be taken out so there would be an opportunity for a full head rebuild, stem seals and valve guides replaced.

Skimming the head is just taking a layer off the bottom of the head whilst performing a headgasket change or if the head is warped. As far as I'm aware there's no performance gains to be had. Then again it might up the compression but I don't know if that's desirable or not.

Apologies for my useless reply lol
