Going to sort out this idle !! check list plz ?

    Youve all told me try the ICV first.... should i take it all apart first or just try air filter off and carb cleaner ??? how do i find out if ICV is ok... then where would i start ??? I got told when i bought car.. map sensor.... but how would i check this 1 ?? When i unplug it car dont start at all....

    going to go to the car and try fix this problem as soon as someone knowledgable replies got all tools ready. thanks in advance.

    ICV - Remove the 3 torx bolts holding it in and give it a clean with carb cleaner.

    Map sensor could be a problem but the only way to check is to put another in its place and see if that remedies the problem.

    Don't rule out the green temperature sensor aswell as I had this issue on a 106 GTI and replaced all of the above in that order and it was the last one (temp sensor) that remedied the problem.

    the temperature sensor i can get of any model saxo cant i ?? like 1.1 etc ? so i can just get one from scrappy.... how about the map sensor and icv can they be from any model ??? Is map sensor easy to get off ?? i notice on my car it goes into wiring loom protected by plastic casing.

    map sensor and temp sensor both in perfect order yeh ??? i might accept that then after i've double checked the icv n cleaned it tomoz works same for VTS ?

    its just both temp sensors not map sensor your car has two temp sensors blue and green located near thermostat

    naw i was trying to take off , car started shaking at that point engine was about to lift out the car.

    changed my temp sensor (one on the top of the housing thinks its blue) 20 pound and map sensor was 15 pound sorted it

    your in birmingham dont sppose you would enjoy to test your sensor on mine see if it fixes my problem and then i can go out buy them lol just a cheeky ask
