air system/induction kits

    Hi...new at this so be gentle brought a mk 2 saxo vtr a week ago...and i got a stupid chrome k and n attached to the air filtering system... im just wundering whether its better stickin up back to standard or gettin a whole new system for it...whats the best thing to do?

    standard air box with a panel filter and a cold air feed would be better as it wont be sucking it hot air if you have more money to spend then a simota or bmc cda kit looks good
    what saxo do you have?

    so going back to standard u think would be best? and i got a 51 plate vtr

    Yep! certainly for the time being. That air filter won't be doing you any good at the moment.

    I've got a BMC kit on my 03 VTS and it's amazing. Had a green filter in the standard box before and could notice a real difference in response, plus it sounds amazing and looks the tits!

    ok...thanks guys i also got the engine management light on...havin it scanned tomorrow..GREAT more expense...so i think at the moment as money bit tight i will transfer bk to standard...then in a couple of week try and put a full indution system on...if i change my mind is it easy to do? i do no a few things about engines but not much and would b able to do it myself if sum1 was willin to help me through it....cheers dudes

    Good idea goin back to standard, always a good way to go on a budget. Changing induction kits/air boxes is relatively easy. But I'm sure someone local will be on hand to help.

    Just unplug the battery for 10 minutes and the engine management light will go out. Usually dosent come back, but if it does then get a diagnostics.

    yeah im goin to go to silverlake on sunday and get a standard air filtering system for now and in a few months change over to a induction kit i had a scan done and came up with the cat...which has only just been changed so all is good thanks guys

    so what would any of you advise me on filters with having a 1.4 furio ?
