ITB's Inlet Manifold's ??

What are the most used inlet manifolds for throttle boddies? Or rather what are the best sellers that people are using are why are you chosing them?
  2. #2
jenvey get a good trumpet angle, but the best are the Sandy Brown / Colin Satchell setups
  3. #3
yea ive seen the sandy brown stuff but dont know anybody who has one, im after knowing why people are choosing certain ones and what for.

The reason people use the sandy brown/Colin satchel set up is due to the cost.

It's significantly cheaper to go with that and bike bodies.

What people used to use but sadly are no longer made are the kms Dth which were meant to be a copy of my pugsport ones, obviously no inlet manifold seperte here. They were quite popular when qep were doing more trading than they are now.

People did also use sandys dcoe manifolds before this as dcoe bodies could be also got for cheaper on the market than the SF counterparts.

I need to know them without bike boddies really. What are the peugotsport ones similar to the oreca ones?

Oreca iirc used to sell the pugsport ones.

I don't have any pics of mine off the car to show you.

If you ignore the bike bodies then the jenvey set up I'd expect to be more popular, after the initial hype of the at powers ive not seen so much of a buzz about them. Largely this may be due to the odd angle they run (straight at the brake bar) as they were designed with the head in mind but without the engine bay.

    Ah ok cool, cheers

The initial motivation for the bike bodies was cost, but the performance is completely comparable to the Jenvey'd engines I've done of late and the GSXR Keihin bodies stay in balance longer and stick/wear less.
Speak to the people that have had the Pugsport copy DTH bodies, alot of problems and I'm not aware of any engines on them that can genuinely challenge what I've achieved on our GSXR bodies and Jenveys on our inlet manifolds, in terms of overall curve/delivery, or even peak power taken on its own. It's an utter fallacy IMO that DTH bodies are better; there aren't any advantages over a well designed and tested manifold+bodies that I can see. Unfortunately we struggle to keep up with demand for our kits and manifolds, so the lead time can be quite long.

Ive got a sandy dcoe setup on my webers and i cant fault the workmanship

The only problem with mine lies with the bodies themself as there too long to fit a filter too so eventually ill contact sandy about a shorter one

It's usually possible to get a filter in, with some creativity! Even without scuttle cutting if you prefer not to.

I have used the GMC IDF one a fair few times on 8V engines.

with mine there isnt space at all with where it mounts on the bodies if that makes sence

ive got a hole in my scuttle for airflow but i dont mind loosing a chunk of it tbh as ive got lhd wipers to go on the car ready

its looking like i may need a slightly shorter manifold but if i do decide to go that route ill contact you via pm or maybe try and get your number of mr preston as hes a mate of mine

maybe if you come the ring with him and i hav it back together you can see what i mean in person as tbh im in no rush to get filters on there i love the noise

ive got the Sandy/Satchell inlet on mine, 1 thing i will say.. in my opinion its best to get the full kit from Colin as machining the bodies to accept the Oring that seals them in the inlet is a complete and utter pain in the a**e....

the inlet itself though is a very good bit of kit:
