Sorry for the hijack, but what's so bad about the ones in the first link? And in the bilstein add he calls the other brands dangerous, I've got some in the shed that look like the ones in the top link, should I not bother fitting them?

the first are the gaz gha's which are the common ones everyone tends to buy, and the second dont say which model, but they look exactly like the gaz gha's in the pic and have the same specs.

id say they were both the exact same kit becuase i think gaz only do 2 kits for a saxo (correct me if im wrong anyone) - but either gaz gha kit or gaz gold kit-which is expensive

theres a group buy on 106owners at the moment with gaz coilovers for cheaper than ebay

cheers mate, i know the gaz gha is a common one people go for, just wasnt sure if the 2nd ones were different in anyway .

Right here is the main issues

The springs are too soft for how low they go and they have too little travel for how easily the spring compresses meaning they bottom out very easily
The material the collars are made if is shit and on 4 occasions ive seen the threads fail and the collar come free from the strut leg itself
The fact there too soft and theres no travel means the top spring pan hits the threaded collar
and finally not the manufacturers fault but theres a "fix the issues" thread on here thats the worse idea ive seen by shortening the spring and causing the dampers to bottom internally and then when you shorten the damper you get the origonal problem back but instead of the spring.pan you hit the strut top bearing

Genuinely bad designed all round and shouldnt actually be on the market imo

Wouldnt be looking at the gaz gha then tbh, they dont use entire new struts, u build them up onto ur existing struts not quite a bolt on job. Maybe look at fk's if that what ur after can be had for around £420 and go lower of the shelf.

Read through that five page link, fair enough. They came with the car but were not fitted. I was going to fit them as my original spring seats are loose and knock. I may as well just repair them and get decent dampers / springs in that case.
