easy now lads and gyals....i wanna change my engine from 1.4 to 1.6 vtr what would i need ie engine box ecu stuff like that and also could i run it on the furio loom? could i run a vtr engine with a 1.4 box would it make a difference?? my mate as got a vtr and i swear lads thats quick he had it remapped cheers

    easy now ali g.

firt off all you need is the engine as long as you get an egine running off the same plus ecu as urs, loom should work, gear box is fine, you need the engine, throttle body etc. but its just plug and play as long as the ecu plugs match. however you will also need the ecu for the vtr. so if your furio is single plug, get single plug ecu.

makes it rappid bro, proppa sick

    How quick is "quick"?
The money is better spent elsewhere unless you have a lot of engine modifications that will require a remap to get it running correctly

why not? because there is no benefit, there nothing different from as it was to start with. If you had cams fitted etc then yeah remap but don't see any advantage in getting it done on a standard car

do other mods before remap mate. inductiion, exhaust, get all the cheapest stuff done 1st. weight reduction too. then think about a remap, gains would be better than as itl go of the other mods, if you map then put other mods on result wouldnt be the same. but for the price of a map then get it cammed instead.

cheers for that bro, i already have a full peco system and a induction kit, ready for the vtr lump, i like the idea of getting it cammed too hmmm lol

Id recommend an xsi/rallye head with J cam. Its cheaper than fitting buying a fitting an equivalent spec (270 degree) cam plus you get a better flowing head with hard valve springs
