vtr to vts conversion???

   going to convert my 52 plate vtr 3 plug to a 16v, dont want be getting looms spliced or changing interior looms so i was wondering if you can get 3 plug vts ecu's unlocked, has anyone done this conversion? could do with a few pointers on exactly what engine i need to buy and loom etc. any help appreciated

   get a 3 plug loom and ecu plus engine from a 51 plate or later you will need exhaust mani + front pipe also need to plumb in a fuel return also need vts rad and top and bottom rad hoses i used my vtr box and driveshafts when i did 16v conversion

   like sam said - get a 3 plug 16v engine, unlocked ecu, loom and the other bits and bobs...hoses, ect. it should be plug and play mate.
   
   ps...unlock the ecu before its removed if you can

   As said above mate, should be easy, only bitch of it can be fuel return line can be fiddly.
   
   To unlock the ecu, there's a few people that do it on here. Or if it's still in the donor car, start the car up, unplug imobiliser box under the fuse box (little black box) and leave it running for 5 mins, turn off and back on to double check it's worked.
   
   But if you're getting the engine and parts off here, most people will unlock before they sell it.

   good shout with the fuel return. forgot about that. but you dont even need to start the engine to unlock. if there is power going through like second click on the key, it does the same

   ok thanks for the help just found a guide on the fuel return, will get all the pipes off a vts and cant really go wrong then
