mk1 or mk2 mani?

hi, ive found this manifold on ebay wich im thinking of buying but the bloke says its for a mk2 then soon changes to mk1 lol, also he doesnt know the make can anyone identify it? any help would be ace.

yes in his add, so i asked if its definatly for a mk1 and what make it was and he wasnt sure on the make and he replyed he didnt know the make he brought it from a maxpower magazine and stated his car was a mk 2 and it would fit but then said its definalt mk1 now hes looked lol

if he paid 300 quid new thens its probably a supersprint 4-2-1 and will fit both mk1 and mk2 but is pretty close to the oil filter on mk2, worth shielding the oil filter with some heat wrap or something.

Iirc it will fit a mk2 if its for a mk1, but you have to convert to mk1 oil filter setup (guide on here) unless its the supersprint, as said. For that money i would have thought it would be a supersprint.

i do have a 2001 plate vtr engine lying around my garage could always swap filters with my 2000 plate i suppose

You have to tap a thread and put a bolt in an unused hole when converting i think, if you search the guide is on here, put the pictures he sent you up on here and someone will more than likely verify which manifold it is?

mine is the mk2 shell with the mk1 engine on a 2000 plate wich was the change over year wasnt it? my oil filter sticks out towards the radiator

I think you're right saying it looks like that 136 quid one off ebay, pretty sure thats not a supersprint, looking at it it looks as though you'd have to do the oil filter relocation. Edit, if your filter sticks out of the block towards the radiator it should fit, black top engine?

i believe so yes, and think i might leave it and keep looking for a decent raceland on here theres a 4-1 on ebay the min but was told 4-2-1 is for bottom end not top end
