Got a 4" ashley backbox at the moment but want to go smaller and i've decided between piper or supersprint. What do you thinks best out of the two?
Piper or Supersprint

#1

#2If you want a small box race exhaust then go for the Supersprint, though the Piper is stainless steel and comes in a larger range of tailpipes.
-
#3Personal preference but it would be piper every time for me!
-
#4Piper for me, here is mine:
-
#5The piper uses cheaper manufacturing methods and will not quite get the same power, but its shiny and has a larger diameter silencer so will be quieter.
-
#6I think the piper 3" back box soundsss sooo nice with supersprint centre pipe!
But then again so do the supersprint back box!
All depends on how raspy you want it the pipe is quit deep until like 4/5k the after that it gets raspy and the supersprint is raspy all the timeeee

#7Cheers for the advice! I've decided to get a supersprint. Just going to wait til' one comes up for sale in the for sale section now!

#9just to clarify as I rushed my post and on reflection was not really clear in what I was trying to say..Quote:The piper uses cheaper manufacturing methods and will not quite get the same power, but its shiny and has a larger diameter silencer so will be quieter.
The piper uses an outwardly rolled contruction when manufactured. Its easier and quicker to construct which is why their stainless prices are not far off what Supersprint charge for an aluminised steel backbox. Quality of the materials and workmanship is some of the best in the UK. Heads and shoulders above the workmanship of the saxsport for example.
The backbox comes with a female end and uses an olive to get a good seal with an olive clamp to go over the top and grip the centre pipe and backbox together. This is a slight smaller bore through this part than the exhaust so depending on what car spec may impede flow slightly. Many people complain that the supersprint tailpipe is too small but the piper has much more options so you get one to suit your tastes. It wont rust either. Eventually the Supersprint construction will surcome to the environment, but its much better than mild steel race backboxes you see on ebay.
