    thanks matty

Try and find a raceland one secondhand.

    Piper 4-1.
Racelands were constructed of thin metal, poorly welded and only sold because they were heavily discounted which made them cheap.
The piper has a brilliant fit, and will make better power because the welding is higher quality with more skill there is less metal intrusion to interupt flow.

wow nice info kam i take it the ones on ebay are just as gd quality as the racelands?

If they are cheap then somewhere the quality has to suffer. Most we see seem to be made in china by people with no idea about manifolds and how they need to flow well to produce power. Where two pipes meet to join into one, the pipework is generally shocking. Flanges seem to be hit and miss as to whether you have to drill out the holes as well.
Raceland at least copied the better brands on general design and so nearly made the same power despite the flaws.

i have a stainless raceland 4-1 and its very good quality, granted its not up to the standards of the likes of a piper one or supersprint one, but they are the best if your on a tight budget.

mine is for sale now, its heatwrapped and is a straight fit for the mk2 saxo 8v.

check my forsale thread bellow if your interested

    raceland all the way

If you just want a cheapie then get a raceland.

Chances are it won't last as long as a better brand but if you don't wanna spend anymore than £100 then it's the best best.

Someone on here bought a Toyosport one from Ebay and said it fit ok iirc.

Mine is a raceland, mainly because I wanted something better than the standard without spending to much. In hindsight I should have shelled out for a better brand but it does the job and seems ok.

Imo you absolutely cannot beat a raceland for the money, people have seen better gains on a raceland than on much more expensive manifolds, obviously quality control is not going to be as good all of the time, but imo all the ones i've seen are decent enough. Obviously Kam is here to make money and as such will recommend the products they sell, in actual fact i bought my raceland that is on my vts from them last year, which at the time was being recommended by them and others all over the forum.

I sold racelands because they were popular, not because I liked them. I'm on this site to give honest advice as well. The raceland was lucky in they basically copied the supersprint design. Unusually it actually made nearly as much power.
The Raceland when tested against the GMC 4-1 manifold trumped it in performance but this was on a 180bhp engine. Ultimately the GMC one was designed for supercharged engines and had a bigger bore far more suited to bigger power.
The good thing about the raceland was the price. Certain EU traders were discounting by 30-40% which made them very popular. We had to ask raceland for special prices to be able to make any profit at all! But with thin metal, poor welding and finishing, and even flanges and primary bends that impeded fitment to the engine I guess they were not worth full RRP. End of the day they did the job ok and thats enough for most people on a budget.
I would rather save up for the best than get the best I can afford now.
Saxo's and 106's are owned by people venturing into the world of driving and modifying, so do not necessarily have the money or patience to wait for something like the Piper 4-1 manifold

Absolutely, at the end of the day, you are a business, and businesses are there to make money, I have purchased a few things from you and am happy with the products and service I've received, also I have seen advice you have given, and its good that you take the time to do that, many wouldn't. The point I was making is once you make the step up from a raceland, it generally gets a lot more expensive, and once again for the price difference, on the majority of mildly tuned saxo's/106's, from what I understand the performance gain is negligible. For a stainless 4-2-1 manifold that made decent gains they were a great deal, at least when buying from yourself anyway. Thanks for replying.

To be honest that used to be the better made. saxo 8v 4-2-1 was worse. Renault 5 ones didnt even fit the cars and fouled the turbo, Clio 16v ones hit the bulkhead...

Ahh fair enough, i'm just going on my exp mate but you being a dealer clearly know much more. Just makes me laugh sometimes on here that if the item ant £300-£400 + its crap.

true but when you compare a supersprint side by side to a raceland you can see what you pay for.

Yer i know that, but most people like me at the time didnt see the point on spending £300+ on a mani for a 1.4.
