sr20det manifold- vtr head??

    I have read on here that a sr20det manifold is not a million miles away from the same port spacing as a vtr? I found ferriday engineering does manifold adapters... would it be worth it for the likes of myself wanting to run a t25/t28 turbo in the near future?

    Be better of just buying one of those £200 jobbies off eBay

    And it's the 16v head it has near port spacings

    But pretty sure ryanmt and a few others tried it and it wasn't that close at all

    So this thread failed haha was worth a try incase it was close... are those manifold of ebay actually any good?

    ask stevo and gav..he has stevos one now

    theyre obviousley not the best..but in their price range??

    BUT...the cituning mani is only a little more @ £250 iirc? you looking for a nice mani or just a budget mani??

    I did look at the cituning manifold last week.. maybe worth a buy. I have gav's old quicky set up getting bolted on this week with a few tasty extra's but starting to plan the next build with a t25 or possible the t28 and forged pistons ect

    tempting For the amount of things I have done to the car I guess I should start one :o Did you see the picture on facebook of the front mount fitted? Looks agrressive for a vtr

    being honest if I had the chance I'd go back to an adapter style setup easier to position turbo where you want and easier to sort a nice downpipe for it plus pipework etc be much shorter and easier to

    Thought that I will put the whole progress up with dyno graphs ect once it is finished, 1 massive picture packed post then that's the end of it for a few months.

    Would it make that much of a difference? I am going to get a new adapter made up for you're old set up as the actuator (spelling?) is against the block and will bend when I tighten the manifold bolts up problem is it now touch's the radiator

    Can you remember the size of the intake side of the turbo? I need a 45 degree reducer to put the induction kit infront of the battery.

    There are more options than you think, you can adapt a manifold no problem but it might not be neat and the turbo position might not be ideal.

    Tbh, the cituning one is a decent buy as you know it works, puts the turbo in the right place etc

    Also, I personally would fit a reducer to the inlet side of the turbo, you want that as free flowing as possible.

    you've got the straight hose that goes on the inlet side of the turbo that goes to 2" so you need 2" to whatever the induction is

    I was kind of hoping you knew the turbo side of that pipe.. it's 15 miles away from me so can't measure it

    the set I have now is an adapted manifold but at the end of summer/next winter I want to start collecting parts for some real power, I was looking at the dp manifolds but there expensive compated to the likes of cituning..

    There will be people who can fabricate a custom manifold the are better than the DP ones for less price, you just need to find them

    Never thought about that! There is a place 50 miles away called elite customs that make good exhuast so maybe they could make up something good, after the boosted vtr I am tempted to go 16valve to squeeze a bit more out I have plenty of time to make plans for it so in no rush at all.
