i'm doing a conversion to a d turbo engine in my belingo van i was wondering if any one else had done a simlar conversion??. i would also ask that after dropping the engine and box in what else will i need to do i know it needs modification to the exhaust to fit to the turbo and that i will have to run a live from the ignition to the stop solinoid to allow it to run but apart from that i am asking in general what else mite i need to do??? i'm not a complete simpleton i have done a fair few engine swaps and projects so all i am after is a bit of advice as i am struggling to find any anywhere else

#2if the berlingo is already a diesel you won't need to run a live to the pump,it'll already be there

#3i will be removing the ecu from the van as the d turbo doesnt have one it is mechanical settings.. i am removing a 1868cc dw8b diesel to replace it with a xu9dt from my 306 that someone kindly wrote off for me a couple of weeks ago... any help will be gladly recived...

#4the dw8 has a plug onto the pump, which, iirc has 4 wires to it, theres a steel shroud on the back of the pump that surrounds the stop solenoid, for anti-theft purposes. cut the plug off and you'll find that one of those wires gets 12V when cranking and stays live once the engines running, thats the one that has to run the XU stop solenoid1 user thanked this post:

#7i just dug mine out of the back of the workshop and decided id best do something with it or its just going to carry on sitting there doing nothing.... so iv decided to put the lump out of my dturbo that someone kindly crashed into in the van an use it as a work horse.... is there any other things iv got to take into account like extra wiring to get the clocks working??? cheers
-
#8no idea on that one but early DW8's ran with no ecu, don't need any extra wires on them

#9ah this is a 2000 x reg and has a ecu reason for the swap is because every few weeeks the pissin ecu forgets its code an it is doing my head in as well as costing me a fortune.... so ive decided to swap it to something that i know about and know how to fix if there is eny problems...
