Saxo exhaust

    alright lads i have a w reg saxo 1.4 ... i am looking for an exhaust system or backbox which will sound good.. but also would like to know how do you get flames? ? thanks jack

    Whats your budget? and you do know flames coming out an exhaust is illegal?

    For flames, 16v it and make it over fuel.

    As for a exhaust, try Kamracing

    Also, depending on where your cat is, (ether in your manifold or under car) you could get a decent manifold also.

    Not to come across a knob or anything but if you look through the first 3 pages on the engine/performance threads there is at least 5+ threads started asking the same but as for an exhaust, 4-2-1 manifold and either superprint/saxsport , best sound ever..

    As for flames though hmm.. 16v for starters and the above ^^, i've got my vtr to flame a few times but that was after a long trip on the motorway so everything was red hot.

    Wouldnt bother with a 2" supersprint with OEM system as it sounds nigh on standard... well it does on mine. You have to decat it all for a loud note.

    ok first of all how do you 16v it? literally buy an engine or? and what do you all think of perhaps just a cherrybomb back box? just want something better than the standard one....

    A cherry bomb or Sportex backbox is very loud and relativly cheap. I doubt you'd get 'flames' from a 1.4 shooting out the exhaust.

    I have the Kam Racing backbox with a Super Sprint Manifold and Super Sprint centre pipe and I'm not very pleased with it at all. Doesn't give off a nice tone while ticking over (unlike some on the youtube videos, my sportex sounded awesome) and it has only gurgled and back fired a handful of times. I'm putting it down to the fact everything is new and needs a few weeks of soot inside the pipes. It does 'whistle' when you put your foot down lol.

    Go somewhere quite and drive it with the boot open and you'll hear what it actually sounds like, just because you can't hear it in the car doesn't mean it doesn't sound good

    Strip the rear and hit it over 3500k revs then it comes to life, i still regret why i sold my 4 branch after my mot, best sound ever honestly .

    My sportex on the old micra sounds fuckin mint if im honest and i was half tempted to buy one for the VTS lol.

    At idle and sat idling revving with the 2" (OEM system btw) its quiet, actually you can hear the engine over it. but when you give it some you can very much hear it tbf.

    Any vids of yours with it straight through?

    Mate has a cherry bomb on his 1.1 saxo and it doesnt sound that bad.

    Not for me personally but still.
