help?

    so i finally picked up my saxo today it was fine for about 40 miles then on the motorway it started making a weird whirry noise under partial acceleration or coasting in gear any ideas guys???

    Wheel bearing? Gearbox bearings? Just some ideas

    sound man was gutted literally started about half hour after i picked it up

    Was the car really cheap? As I've heard stories of putting sawdust or something in the gearbox to stop noises, but this obviously wouldn't last long.

    it was up for 700 but got him down to 550 theres a few problems it need new bushes and the tracking doing but all thats fairly cheap how much does a new gearbox bearing cost??

    could it be the release bearing??

    only slightly it gets louder the faster i go but stops if i press the accelerator over half way :s

    Sounds like a wheel bearing to me you can get them cheap off eBay m8 and I would just get the car up and have a look to make sure nothing is loose

    Apart from that there is only the box to come off
    Just a few more ideas for you
