vts miss firing but no codes present

   I have been offered a vts phase 2 and the man said to me that one day he was driving and started to sound like a scooby so he ment it started to miss but i have had it pluged in and brings up no codes it did bring up addaption mixture control once does this mean its a mecanical fault causing it to miss fire have changed lamda coil and plugs and fuel filter and no joy also pressure tested it and all cylinders at about 170 psi so i cant figure this out any help please

   check the map sensor wiring buddy, ive had a couple now where it gets chafed by the plastic sheathing.fire it up and give it a good wiggle. it often wont store a code for it either. the lastone the wire was completely broken through but he ends where touching so under acceleration it broke the signal.
   worth a wiggle!

   it is relatively common fault as the wires are pretty taught. but definately wotth inspecting the loom in that area. even if its not the problem the loom will probly be in need of tlc

   Although my saxo isn`t a vts ,I had the same trouble as you & cured it with a new map sensor.

   no joy with map sensor its cylinder 4 next to the cam belt as the exhaust manifold stays cold could it be head gasket

   Just compression tested the cylinder and 14 bar 200 psi

    Map sensor is runnin at 500 (mbar) on idle and 1.73 (v) on idel

    Try a coilpack they don't always bring up codes when they fail.

    A new set of plugs cured the same problem on mine. Although none of my cylinders were cold.

    Are you getting spark and fuel to that cylinder?

    Look at that mate had same problem but engine light was on. Turned out to be broken wire in injector loom
