Decat pipe

    Anyone know where i can get a decat pipe for my 02, phase 2 saxo vtr??

    I need it to fit onto my supersprint centre pipe also.

    All i can find is for phase 1 saxos

    to decat a 02 vtr... either...

    fit a 4branch manifold or fit a std manifold and downpipe from a mk1 vtr

    cat is in the downpipe on an 02 vtr... so by fitting an aftermarket 4branch manifold or parts from earlier car your decating it

    4 branch as in 4-2-1 or 4-1??

    yea, best to fit a 4-1 as the majority of 4-2-1's involve converting the oil filter to a mk1 set up, unless you dont mind doing that

    i heard you have to do that, is it a hard job or just a two minute one? and whats the difference apart from the set up, of the 4-2-1 and 4-1? as in any sound difference? i know there'll be no real performance difference.

    I don't think there is a sound difference however moving the filter isn't a 2 min job you need to tap and block a hole and buy a mk1 oil filter and adapter could be done in a few minutes however having to tap a hole puts people off and with the added cost of buying the parts people generally just pay that little extra for the 4-1

    4 2 1 doesnt require an oil filter relocation. just put a phase one down pipe on or get on ebay and put some bids on this

    toyosport manifold is really good! sounds as good as any other and looks great, i had one on my VTR and it fitted perfect from new and was of a good standard

    I've got the highest bid so far on that but just realised it has a day to go lol, dammit, what's the highest you think i should go? and you sure it will fit without moving the oil filter?

    if you read what i said the majority of 4-2-1's require the filter relocation, from what i can see there isnt one on kam racing that fits a mk2 without modification, i have never fitted one to a mk2 that doesn't require the filter to be moved, that one on ebay is unbranded, cant be great quality, also being in 2 pieces just give the exhaust one more place where the exhaust can develop a blow

    also fitting a mk1 down pipe is a ball ache to do when all your doing is fitting a de-cat pipe, i personally wouldn't worry about de-catting a oem manifold when for less work you could fit a 4 branch

    also you cant bolt the mk1 downpipe on to the mk2 manifold i just remembered the last person that did it had to weld it on the bolt pattern isnt the same
