Getting Pops and Bangs on a remap

    Having a discussion with my mate,

    to get an exhaust to bang and pop would you make it run lean on the map or make it run rich?

    It would be over fuelling to create pops and bangs, so probs rich.

    But a decent cam and exhaust will get the same effect anyway without cheating..

    Hmm...yeah cos i have a raceland mani, supersprint decat centre section and a piper backbox, plus piper cams and remap and it wont bang haha

    piper cams are probably too mild then...

    I have a 421 and a decat Janspeed system and it barely pops, maybe one or two during downshifts.

    Why are people obsessed with it popping?

    because it sounds good lol, better than a Turbo going psshh IMO

    I love pops and bangs from exhausts, I no it sounds sad but when im on the way to work, when it pops and bangs it always puts a smile on my faces

    im sure you would have it running ritch so that unburnt fuel in the exhust ignites to pop and bang

    But also when running lean, successful ignition on the fuel does not always happen on overrun so unburnt fuel goes into the exhaust...
