gti/vts stats confusion..

  1. #1
well i have been looking at vts and gti and have realised although the engine is the same on auto trader stats and on parkers stats the vts is a whole second to 60 quicker (aparently) i dont understand this as i thought they are pretty much the same car ? just different styling.

so does anyone know if these figures are wrong ?
  2. #2
they figures were done with different amounts of fuel and a passenger between the 2 so caused a weight difference

    the cars themselves are identical
  3. #3
i thought so because the only other thing i could think was gearbox differences but i thought they were the same ... so what is an accurate 0-60 for them ?

    does anyone know ?

There is no specific 0-60. All of them will have different power at the wheels and it also depends on what fuel you have in the tank and how good of a driver you are. If a car's spec says it does 0-60 in 6 seconds it dosent mean that your going to get that everytime.

Id be expecting around the 7.5-8 area on a standard one. But like i said thats not a solid number.

citroen tested the car with min fuel and driver nothing else in car peugeot did the opposite and tested with a passenger half tank of fuel and typical sized shopping load in the car reason behind it? lower the insurance grouping vts 14 gti 13 in old money

Personally the gti is the better option insurance is quite a bit cheaper and you get leather in the later models
  10. #10

compared to my vts, the gti came out slightly more :/

I would opt for the GTI between the two, as said it's basically the same car but has half leather and looks better. The GTI also has a bigger arb being 24mm

its supposed to, but a lot of people have discovered 22mm ARBs upon inspection

probably a lot of people have had fucked axles and swapped them at some point though.

When I was looking to buy either a vts or gti I think it was around 700 I saved by having a gti, I wanted a vts dont get me wrong but the price difference swayed me to a gti
