Screeching/squealing

    Ok so I fitted a new crankshaft pulley and a new alternator belt, when driving its more of a constant squealing, is it to tight or to loose? Any ideas?

    Probably to loose, tighten it up.

    To tighten it is it the star drive underneath the tensioner? Will it move up and down? Cheers

    You'll need to loosen all the bolts and then tighten it up my the end bot.
    (if that makes sense)

    How many bolts are there? And where abouts? I've seen the star drive below the tensioner but that's it??

    Not sure if it's the same on an 8v alternator, but on the vts there are 2 13mm bolts to unlock the tensioner, one above the pulley and the other on the shaft of the adjuster bolt, you loosen them, adjust the tensioner bolt and then tighten to 2 nuts up again.

    Don't suppose theres a pic anywhere of where the bolts are?
