saxsport 2" or 3"?

   Ideally I'd like to know which makes the least noise, I'm presuming the 2"
   
   And power wis would there be much in it?
   
   I have a piper backbox and a decat, it's so loud it dements me, I need something quieter for track, but don't want to choke the gasses

   The smaller tailpipe will be marginally quieter. Depending on your spec of engine, the saxsport may not always be quiet enough for track use, especially if you cam the car. Some track noise limits are under 90db.
   
   If you like the piper backbox fit a supersprint mid centre pipe with silencer - 801602
   
   or if you want to keep the decat - the supersprint cat back with silencer - 802003

   saxsports are not quiet, no matter which one, marginally quieter on 8v's but 16s are mental.
   also totally different noise to piper exhausts, saxsport has more rasp sound

   Piper has more silencing material in its backbox. Probably one of the quietest on the market, so you really need a mid silencer to sort everything

   Ahhh right, it's cammed, 4-2-1 manifold, and a decat, it just sounds silly
   
   so my manifold basically connects to a straight pipe, so :
   
   Supersprint centre pipe with silencer - 801602 +£ 138.18 (+£ 165.82 Incl. Tax)
   
   how much reduction would this give on noise?
   
   I'd be happy to keep my backbox if I could tone it down a bit

   roughly 12db quieter which is quite a lot. Should get you legal at any track in the country.
   What tailpipe do you have on the piper?

   i hate exhausts 2 big or 2 small. personally.for me i love between 3-4" for hatch backs and 4-5" for saloons. so id say 3" as i also prefer the look of the rolled tip.

    I had a cat + silencer with a 2" and it was lovely and quiet.

    i have the same back box and supersprint without the siliencer.
    
    standard manifold - but its stupidly loud.

    I had that same Piper backbox with a silenced centre pipe, was an absolute ear bleeder. Ended up switching to a 2" Piper backbox and it's much quieter - was something like 83db static at Cadwell.

    just fit a magnex they are quiet also help with performance.
