Popping flames

    Alright guys, just trying to be siick blud brap


    I've got a decat exhaust welded up to before the backbox. (pretty much a drain pipe). Then some sportex backbox

    On the standard VTS manifold it produced a lot of popping on and a rare flame out of the end.

    I have just bought a sportex 4-2-1 manifold, but haven't fitted them all together yet.

    Without messing around with overfueling or ebay kits.., how else would I be able to produce occasional flames on driving when I am trying?

    well as you say a rare flame already comes out of it, i imagine your new manifold should see occasional flames. If not, you can try spending a grand or two modifying the engine so that its uber quick and spits flames regularly.

    My car pops and bangs after every gear change when warm, im not sure if its flaming or not as i cant see, but i think it could be as it appears to be staining my bumper with a big burn mark above the exhaust
    takes ages polishing it off every month

    only ever popped one flame that i know of and thats with a decat and full supersprint system, my bumper above my exhaust however is full of soot so it's probably doing it more than i realise.

    was being chased by some young lad in a fiesta and as i went from 3-4th the bang made my shit myself haha, must have looked quite cool from behind though

    *not saying yours doesnt but i highly doubt that will be because of that.

    Mines just of when the cars cold and the black inside the tip just spits out onto the bumper.

    your probably right to be honest, but in fairness, it was never an issue until i got my 4-2-1 on, and since then it pops and bangs so much more.

    i guess unless i strapped a camera to the rear window or something equally daft, i wont ever know lol.

    Mine pops and bangs with oe mani and cat with a catback 2" SS.

    It does get annoying at times going down gears esp in a village BANG BANG pop pop pop pop BANG. I just cover my face.

    Sounds epic though.

    yeah it really does haha, i have halved my MPG since getting my system because i just hold each gear more than necessary lol.

    i would definately suggest a mani to you if you like a good bang fcuk:

    not trying to be a dick just being a bit pedantic but why did you list an unlocked ecu in your spec? a unlocked ecu wont have any benefit over a locked one lol unless you mean you've got a vtr ecu on there?

    My 1.1 once spat a little flame up my mates leg. He was standing behind me while i was reversing into a parking space, i gave it a big rev to get him out the way lol, must have only been because it was really hot though, as i was having a play in the snow about 2 minutes earlier...

    That was with full decat s/s centre and kam backbox

    mine seems like it wants to spit. not run it hot enough yet though as temp gauge is playing up and its just after a conversion so need temp gauge on before i run it long enough. but bangs like hell:

    4-2-1, de-cat, silencer cut off and a cheapo back box (cant afford a full system yet but its on my to do list )

    I'm sad to say.. Mine now pops, BANGS and 'Flames'

    Going down the high street and it goes BANG. All the shoppers look at you. I sink into my seat and feel like a cock.

    A Jaguar was up my arse the other week while i was steadly doing 60Mph. A little tap of the accelerator at 2800Rpm and BANG then POP. The Jaguar soon backed off. It sort of confirmed to me that it now has a pathetic flame coming out of the back

    Super Sprint 4-2-1 Mainfold, Super Sprint Centre Section, Kam Racing Back Box.


    Trick is to dink the throttle at 2800/ 3000RPM. Gear 2 or 3 is best for this. Sounds awesome though.

    Who says you need boost? a lairy cam with throttle bodies and mapping will give the desired effect too

    kamracing.co.uk are a reputable seller.

    Only bother with the supersprint, piper or btb imo.

    Vts + raceland mani + decat + stainless backbox + changing from 2nd to 3rd just before the limiter at full throttle used to pop a flame

    My mrs at the time rang me after following me part the way to work telling me my car was on fire
