When i get driving down the road i go to put my foot down and the car just jerks for a few seconds, doesnt pull away and then all of a sudden kicks in and flies off. I changed the coil pack because it was the original one, however that made no difference, i changed the fuel filter and the same thing happened, NOTHING!!! It doesnt idle well either despite having a nice shiny clean icv, could this be the fuel pump? if so how do i test it? Sorry about the essay!

#2Sounds injectors to me.
Also, what nice is your plugs/air filter in? -
#3Probably either the injectors or spark plugs
-
#4New spark plugs :/ I shall take my injectors out and have a look, how do i get the top of my throttle body off btw? the 16v badge wont come off haha. What do you mean what nice?
-
#5sometimes could be icv or lambda. mine was coilpack, but have had similar problems from aformentioned!
-
#6Meant what condition but put nice for some reason. :/Quote:New spark plugs :/ I shall take my injectors out and have a look, how do i get the top of my throttle body off btw? the 16v badge wont come off haha. What do you mean what nice?
You wont be able to see much if you take the injectors out, best bet is to get some injector cleaner and chuck some shell/tesco 99 octane in and give her a good run to flush the shite out. -
#7Oh haha, last week i cleaned my flap (where the air filter goes into the body) it was black and i think some of the crap went through the body into the injectors, when i thrashed it on my drive it chucked no end of crap out and my nice brick drive became black!

#8There's 3 bolts on the top holding it on and 2 more underneath right at the back near the bulkhead they are a pain to get to i had to use a Alan key to get them off1 user thanked this post:

#9I had this recently and it was so bad it could have caused whiplash from it, mines was sometimes just dieing altogether if i kept my foot on the accelerator whilst going did as hefty just said ^^^^^^^ 2 jerry cans of 99 ron and red ex mixed in took it somwhere quiet and revd it up then drove it hard and it was like brand new again!1 user thanked this post:

#10Been an expensive week for the old girl but i shall take the top of my body off, clean it up, then put a bit of redex in her, Cheers lads, also at work we have an ultrasonic injector cleaner so might use that if i get a spare few hours
-
#11Just replaced my Lambda sensor after I had the same symptoms, all sorted now. Although, its worth remembering this can happen because any of the important sensors fail and it can send the ECU crazy.
-
#12I had loads of fun on the M60 when the lambda died on my 1.1, it would be sat happily at 60 then start dying unless I floored it for a few seconds, then be fine again. Ended up unplugging it.
-
#13Haha i have 1 new 1 and i dont have a second, cba to put it in! Going to plug it in tomorrow at and see what it says
-
#14my 106 gti is doing the exact same thing.
iv already changed plugs, so im doing the next cheapest option....redex and 99fuel.
hope it clears it, or i can see myself spending a fortune on new parts :/ -
#15Problem solved for me mate, i plugged mine in at work onto the diagnostics tool, came up with fuel bank 1, as i had changed the plugs a few weeks ago and the coil pack could only mean injector 1! Redex might do it, not done my any good, gona chuck the injectors on our sonic cleaner when i get the chance
-
#16so, i would have to have my injectors cleaned if it doesnt work?
how much is ultra sonic cleaning roughly? -

new parts so far with no success:
fuel filter
spark plugs -
#20Its ok, hope they can help
cheap and not gone for long! ye haha i changed my plugs about a month ago and they look in good condition and i changed my filter about 4 days ago haha the day i posted this
-
#21My engine has now packed up completely haha, doing the injectors helped no end and then it started running on 2 cylinders and wont accelerate lol
-
#22Coilpack?
-
#23Nope, new one of them on, fuel filter, cleaned injectors and icv, my mate plugged it in again and took the error code down, searched it and when it came back with the list of possible faults i turned away after reading nearly 50 odd. Pretty much every sensor on the engine was on the list, and some internal faults, all 4 are sparking. i am doing 60 in 5th and it wont accelerate and only fires on 2, drop it down to 3rd and all of a sudden all 4 are working again, in every gear but once i drop down to cruise and go to put my foot down again its back on 2
-
#24Crank shaft sensor?
-
#25Well it could be, could be any sensor on the engine, problem is im gona start throwing money at sensors when it might not even be them, my lambda sensor was a bit loose on the connector but that made no difference. Oh the joys of being a saxo owner! Citroen quoted quite a while to fix it

#26I have same probs wit my vts. Changed every tink apart for injectors. But have some new ones on order. Hope it solves my probs but will let ya know.
