Retrofititng Power Steering to a 2002 saxo 1.1 Forte

   Hi All,
   Tried the search but couldn't find what info i'm looking for.
   
   Id like to retro fit a relatives 2002 Saxo 1.1 forte with power steering.
   
   
   
   My questions are, will all the pump mounts be present, and what are the chances of the pump wiring being already fitted? its a base model so i've not got my hopes up there.
   If the wiring is not fitted where does the relay and power supply come from so I can cut the relevant section of loom from the car to add it to the existing loom.
   
   I'll source all the parts from the local scrapyard as theres a few high spec saxos theres.
   
   Also are all the saxo power steering systems the same? Ie does it matter what saxo I source it from? ie mk1 or mk2 and does the engine size matter from? ie, avoid the vts as its different? Is the 106 system the same if I can't find a complete system in a saxo?

   You'll a pas pump, the brackets, the relay, and the wiring that goes up the inner wing to the fuse box iirc???
   
   You'll also need a pas steering rack... the plugs/main wiring should already be there id have thought, you'll just have to trace the pump wires to where they lead as I can't remember
   
   Worst case scenario you find an ignition live to relay.. To pump and bingo,
   
   Seems like a lot of hassle to just have pas tbh

   Ok thanks, its the wiring i'm mainly concerned about,
   
   Its for a relative who has weak rists. The saxo is like new with only 15k on the clock. Saves buying a different car with PAS which wont be as tidy and the saxo isn't worth much either so its not worth getting rid.

   Isn`t the steering column also different betweed a non pas & pas set-up?

   yea rack, column, pipes, pump and all associated wiring. I think mandyslover said the pedal box is different as well

   This. And it is a huge amount of effort. Would write the car off economically if you were paying someone else to do it for sure!

   That's a piss take tbf, in reality though.. Even if those extras weren't involved it would still be a lot of effort for nothing imo
