No fog lights fitted & indicating problem

  1. #1
    Hi guys,

I bought a Mk2 VTR yesterday but there is a few things wrong.

The first thing is there is no foglights fitted for some reason, I've scoured the internet but couldn't find out if the Mk1 and Mk2 foglights are the same, also read that apparently you can't turn them off once they are plugged in, is this true?

The second thing is when indicating left it automaticly stops indicating straight away before turning but apparently this is just a faulty stalk, are the Mk1 and Mk2 stalks the same? Is there a guide anywhere to fit one without removing the steering wheel?

    Thanks in advance!

Mk1 and Mk2 fogs are the same I believe and what do you mean you cant turn them off? Theres a switch on the stalk.

Steering wheel has to come off to change the stalk unless you can drop the steering colum thing. I didnt bother finding out if you can. I changed mine in Jan. Wasnt fun at all. Borderline nightmare.

Cheers guys, couldn't find any threads like that, searched quite a few too. It was probally just a guy being sarcastic meaning everybody who has a VTR leaves them on but I wasn't sure, I thought maybe that's why mine had been removed. Are the fogs standard on the VTR?

Also behind the steering wheel is an airbag contact ring this has a plastic lug which cancels the indicators, sometimes they break off.

You can change them if they get broke. They unplug just behind. Follow the wire.
