Dump valves meant to stay open?

   Are dump valves meant to stay open on idle and close when opening throttle or is mine just totally fucked?
   
   If they are I've never noticed nor did I know that!!!
   
   I thought they'd stayed shut and opened on vacuum!!

   Is the dump valve suited for the turbo. My mate had a punts gt with a huge turbo on and that constantly dump as it was running like 20psi on tick over. Once he put a bigger and better dump valve on it was fine and boosted better.

   You have the wrong spring in, it's too soft.
   
   A slightly stiffer spring will sort this out.

   I didn't think it was meant to!!
   
   I know the spring is too soft, don't know what it was off but it dumps way before its even spooled been meaning to get a harder one or a while
   
   Not that it matters now
   
   Anyone after a vtr turbo kit?
