turbo timer

    hi there guys. the build off my boosted car is now almost completed. it will be runing about 200hp atf on 14 psi boost but day to day it will be about 130 hp @ 5 psi. will i require a turbo timer for my car. it will day to day just be driven around the town and on weekends ill be tackling some b roads etc etc? i was planning to install one just to be safe but work is only a 10 min drive away and i normally walk it except for rainy days/ late finishes etc. i cant really be bothered with the car left running for say a minute everytime i decide to nip to work or the corner shop?

    Personally after I've driven mine hard I just take the last couple of miles or the last 5mins of my drive really easy. Just drive like a normal person when your nearly home.

    Turbo timer. Makes like so much easier and plus means your turbo warms up and cools down properly.

    Like Danny said, just take the last couple of miles quite easily, and then after you stop, a 2 minute wait should turn into a 15-20 second wait. That's what I'l be doing soon anyway

    yeah i was considering taking it steady towards the begginng and the end off the drive anyway. i dont think i could live with a turbo timer for everyday use. the car would still be running when i get out off the corner shop

    I have a HKS turbo timer.

    Its a pain in the arse when you're just nipping around town or want to turn your engine off at a carwash, carpark etc.. You can just as easily let it cool down yourself.

    This is better for the car than a turbo timer. They are a pointless expense on a road car.

    it is true. you are much better to do a warm down on the road then sat with no air flow.

    Don't bother with a timer. Just take the last few minutes of your drive at a slow pace. Then give it 15seconds idle. That's what I do

    Glad i've read this. I've never owned turbo'd car as of yet but i've always said that when the time comes, one of these would be the 1st thing I'd buy. Obviously I won't waste my money now.
