hey people just after some ideas for my furio just wondering what i can do to add a bit more performance
furio

#2Normal stuff would be a decent induction kit, exhaust system ect.. it all depends how far you wanna go?
if cash isnt tight then you could look at an engine change?
i had a mate with a furio who removed most of the interior and it kept up with my old vtr.
Hope this helps -
#3Every saxo needs to be lowered. You won't regret it providing the job get done properly.

#4What i found a good setup,
If its a single plug ECU, so change over year mainly W reg furios,
saxo silver top single plug Inlet manifold + throttle bodie ground down and polished throttle bodie, good induction kit with a good cold air feed a piper 4 into 1 manifold ( gives some awesome low down torque compaired to the racland 4 2 1 i had previouse
Vtr Blue injectors
fuel pressure regulator and a kam racing stainles decat full system with a 2 inch tip
1.1 gearbox solid engine mounts
Absolutly awesome setup on the furio, will beat VTRs till the 1.1 box struggles at around 80 will sit a little behind to 100 then vtrs gone lol! , would say all that would give you around 90bhp maybe a bit more, we shall see when i do a dyno run, also shell v power really is worth the extra pence, gives awesome gains with this setup and also ECO driving will see 60 - 70 miles on £10
Smaller wheels help with acceleration too1 user thanked this post: -
#5cheers guys , let my know what ya putting out on ya dyno run , cheers for the advise
-
#6oh btw mines a 2001 furio ?
-
#7iv never had chance to play with these 2001 3 plug ecu engined cars, because the newer style engines have differnt heads and what not, the VTR inlet wont fit that i used how ever im sure the VTR mk2 inlet may make some differnce! but like iv said never had a toy, the 3 pluggers have well restrictive cats / manifolds so get a decent straight through decat on to free some power!
-
#8and when i said 1.1 gearbox solid engine mounts i meant
a 1.1 gearbox and solid engine mounts, the 1.1 box is a awesome upgrade imo! -
#9By "throttle bodie ground down and polished" I guess you mean smoothing the inside of the ports?
Is it a straight swap otherwise? -
#10fit a new k&n induction kit and exhaust system with a 421 manifold then see how it goes

#11The 421 manfiold is better for a road setup, the 4-1 is only for peak power at the very top of the rev range.Quote:What i found a good setup,

Changing the injectors wont do anything other than over fuel the engine.
Solid engine mounts dont affect power.
K thanks bye. -
#12cheers guys will see how it goes
-
#13cant see the mild cammed 1.4 from a furio making that power. It'll only be overfuelling with the bigger injectors. Saying that though the standard VTR gearbox is very long

#14Sorry mate jesus i was giving him ideas for his car, unlike you giving nothing,Quote:The 421 manfiold is better for a road setup, the 4-1 is only for peak power at the very top of the rev range.

And your theory might be proven on paper to you, But from experience of having both the piper wins hands down for me.. for a start its made much better, also it has larger diameter tubing and a better shape. the lads asking for more power out his car for a road setup, Wo modifes there car to perform lower down the rev range, if you wanting to use your cars power you dont eco drive..
it doesnt actualy make sence what uv said because if your on some back road using your car to the best of its potential then your not going to enter the twistys in 5th at 3k revs..
or even accelerating onto a duel carigway or overtaking, youd rop it down a gear so your revs are up there where the furios power generaly is thers no power before 4k
K thanks bye, -
#15and as for over fueling with larger injectors, how is that possible, just because the injectors can run at a higher CC rating, doesnt mean that its going to sit over fueling, it just means there under less stress instead of maxing out furio injectors running them high
Ill take it next dyno day i get chance and wheel have a look see -
#16its going to be flowing more fuel into each cylinder due to the larger size of injector but the same duration injector pulse/signal from the ECU. Unless its had a remap of course to alter this
-
#17But with the vtr inlet your letting in more air as furio thrttle bodie is alot smaller
-
#18lets be honest, save for a bigger car

#20W343nna, your points are helpful at all.
Best advice for this lad is do nothing to it and enjoy it, if he feels the ned to waste money by a backbox and are intake intake for some noise.
Its a 75hp 8v, its never going to be fast..
