Looking into this a bit more.

So far iv found the engine in the following cars.

Mini cooper s turbo, ds3 racing, 207 gti, pug sport car thing the new one.

Does any one else no of more cars this engine is fitted in.

Cheers dude. It just a idea atm. But think it could be quite a good move If could get a engine at a good price. Then run on stand alone ecu etc

im in two minds, as its the underpowered version of the cooper s im not sure if its worth the money fitting one, as tis a bmw engine its not going to be easy fitting one, with that much work there are other engine id fit

if its no harder to fit the full power cooper s engine then it could be worth it

but for 170 bhp id rather spend that money just tuning the 16v engine

True but from what iv seen a quick remap and 220 ish is easy and quite like the idea of fitting a newer more modern engine which is been used in quite a few cars now. so modern engine with the classic saxo shap and handling.

furry muff, really going to have to talk to some sort of engineering company as mounts, drive shafts, gear linkages, throttle cable (it probably uses an electic throttle which wont be easy to get by), clutch cable (might use a hydraulic system), exhasut manifold/exhaust and loom would all have to be custom made would be costly if you paid someone to do it all

It's a good choice but getting hold of one might be quite expensive. As you said it would need to be on standalone and there's alot of work involved bit it is quite a small engine. Is it the SOHC version?

I would do most the work my self when doing my fiesta project its quite easy sorting mounts and all that kinda stuff out. But as you say would not be cheap the engines seem to go for around the 1k mark and easy over another 1k in fitting and custom parts etc
