a 1.1 box iirc is pretty much exactly the same as a vts box but with a bigger diff i didnt notice any difference when i fitted a 1.1 box to my vts (not out of choice), however it seemed to have made a noticeable difference on my vtr

Had a look at the link am I right in thinking that if I put the vts box on my vtr I will get vts speed out of the engine or will stay the same??? And will the vtr drive shafts fit straight in the vts box

1.1 boxes arent really built to take the torque of the bigger engines iirc

It'll make acceleration slightly better from the VTR engine but not vts comparible times. The VTS gearbox is has a different final drive than the vtr one and its geared for a slowly top speed. If you had enough power to get there you'd have a higher top speed on the vtr box however

'VTS speed' lol. It would be VTS gearing.. Which is slightly better acceleration, but lose a little top end - (however the engine wouldn't of pulled to top speed with the vtr box on) So will still top out at whatever the engine can manage.

And 1.1 boxes wasn't built for the extra torque - but they do last.

I killed a VTR box and a 1.4 box - Bought a 1.1 box, and it lasted far longer than the others.. Done roughly 25-30k with the 1.1 box on a VTR - and 5k on the 16v.

Plenty of harsh launches - plenty of B road blasts - even a few wheelspins And it's totally fine.

Titchster on here used his 1.1 box for 10's of thousands of miles too - including track days and santa pod runs.

So don't let them 'being weak' put you off

Mines done about 20k on a 1.1 box and the only problem is a crunch into third if im really caning it
