#2also for these it says you need ecu upgrade and electronic throttle upgrade any idea on cost of these?
-
#3prices vary, i'm trying to get a few quotes for my vts, you will need to change the water pump and belt ect.. ecu upgrade mean it will need remapped after the cams are fitted like i say prices vary, ive had quotes around 900pound for the whole lot
-
#4where does it say you need an electronic throttle upgrade?
-
#5Electronic throttle upgrade?! Yes you should get your ecu remapped to suit the cams/other mods ideally but its not essential right away. Also as said, probably best to factor in the price of a cambelt kit and water pump if it hasn't been done, at the very least would replace the belt. Probably looking at 2-3 hours labour in a garage to fit the cams/do the belt and water pump so say £100-£200 for that, then a re-map/some time on the dyno is going to be anywhere between £200-£400 depending on who does it. Thats not including cambelt kit and water pump which would likely be another £100.

#6seen ph3s and remapped ecu on ebay for £300 seems a good price
-
#7what sort of gain would i be looking at with this? is it worth it?
-
#8Do u mean an upgrade on the cambelt and water pump? (as you can tell don't have a clue) either way would you explain why? and also do you mean a whole new ecu then get it remapped or just get the one iv'e got remapped?Quote:Electronic throttle upgrade?! #9No i mean if you are fitting new cams, it makes sense to replace the cambelt and water pump as its going to be apart anyway. Thats if you havent done it already. It's up to you when it comes to the ecu. The rough price i gave is to have yours remapped. If you were to buy a new ecu, ie standalone ( omex/kms/dta/predator etc) costs will rise considerably!

#10but its not needed to do so then? cheers dude

#11Not necessary no but its a really really good idea to do it.
