    hey , just wanted some advise , been told about getting a lightend flywheel just wanted to know will it really make a difference to my power or is it not worth the money ? cheers

    Can you really notice a difference for £200? I'm surprised you don't sell them Kev.

    I've just fitted the TTV one to my car. Very impressive piece of kit in terms of design. The mass is largely concentrated in the centre so the moment of inertia is lower than the 50% weight reduction would suggest by the looks of it

    Here's what I've noticed:
    1) car starts up easier
    2) car revs easier
    3) gear changes in low gears are much easier
    4) tiny bit quicker in 2nd (therefore 1st will be even better), not physically noticeable in 3rd. Although timing wise might suggest an improvement I guess.
    5) engine braking is a tad stronger in low gears.
    6) doesn't stall any easier it seems (this was my main concern!)

    Worth the money??? Tough one. Probably not, and I certainly wouldn't go removing the box and clutch just to upgrade the fly. It were part of an overhaul of the clutch and transmission then it's worth exploring. The clutch is still a weighty piece so I'll start exploring lighter varients of that at a later date.

    Yes you can really notice a difference, was one of the best things i did to mine. Makes the car rev up so quick, mind you mine was fitted with a short gearbox.

    Op, it wont increase your engine output but it will decrease transmission loss so you get more power at the road, the engine will rev up much quicker so if your running cams ect it will help with that too

    What's the spec? Steel/alu/kryptonite? Weight?

    Damn. There's not a lot there between the outside and the inner! That's awesome. It's much like my one. Helix wins :-(

    Its in an early prototype stage with one of our suppliers. All I know is they are moving the timing teeth to a separate disc on the alternator side of the engine to get everything as light as possible.
